How IRCC Calculates Processing Times
IRCC publishes the time it takes to process 80% of applications received in the previous 3 months. This means 20% of applications take longer.
Processing starts when IRCC receives a complete application โ missing documents cause delays and restart the clock.
Applications from certain countries may take longer due to additional security screening, regardless of what the published times show.
