Settldown was founded on a simple belief: studying abroad should be a decision made on information, not on which consultancy paid the most to be featured.
Why we built this
Every year, over 13 lakh Indian students go abroad for higher education. Most of them navigate a fragmented and opaque ecosystem — consulting firms that work on referral commissions, loan agents who push specific lenders, and coaching centers with no accountability for results.
Settldown changes this. We are a three-sided marketplace where students post their requirements for free, verified consultancies and loan agents pay only for leads they choose to pursue, and exam coaching centers compete on quality.
The result: students get multiple, competing offers. Agents get genuine, high-intent leads. Nobody pays to be ranked higher — merit wins.

How Settldown makes money
Students use Settldown entirely for free. There is no premium tier for students, no hidden fees, and no requirement to purchase anything.
Agents pay for leads. Consultancies and loan agents purchase credit packs or monthly subscriptions to unlock student contact details. They choose which enquiries to respond to — we never force-match anyone.
Exam vouchers. We negotiate bulk pricing with test centres and pass savings on to students, retaining a small margin.
We do not accept advertising, we do not sell student data, and we do not receive referral commissions from universities or lenders that would bias our recommendations.
