Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 April 2026
Settldown Technologies Private Limited ("Settldown", "we", "our", or "us") operates the website settldown.com and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
By using the Platform you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information you provide directly
- Account registration: Name and email address when you sign in with Google.
- Student enquiries: Study destination, course preferences, budget, timeline, and any additional information you voluntarily add to an enquiry.
- Contact & support forms: Name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Payment information: Billing details entered during a purchase. We do not store card numbers, CVVs, or bank account details — all payment data is handled by our payment processor under their own PCI-DSS compliant policies.
b) Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the Platform, and referring URLs — collected in aggregate to improve the service.
- Device information: Browser type and operating system, collected only to ensure compatibility.
- Cookies: We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to remember preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies without your explicit consent.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To match student enquiries with relevant agents (consultancies, loan agents, exam coaches).
- To process payments and issue receipts and GST invoices.
- To send transactional emails — payment confirmations, enquiry updates, voucher delivery. We do not send promotional emails without your consent.
- To improve, personalise, and ensure the security of the Platform.
- To comply with applicable laws and respond to legal requests.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share information only as described below:
- Agents (on your explicit consent): When an agent unlocks a student enquiry, the student's contact details (name, phone, email) are shared with that agent. Students are notified when their details are unlocked.
- Payment processor: Payment details are shared with our payment gateway provider solely to process transactions. We do not store sensitive payment data on our servers.
- Email delivery provider: Your email address is passed to our transactional email provider to deliver messages you have requested (receipts, notifications). This provider is contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or government authority.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and enquiry data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, transaction records which must be retained for 7 years under Indian tax regulations).
5. Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies to operate the Platform (for example, to maintain your logged-in session). We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent you from logging in.
6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children Under 18
The Platform is not directed at children under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@settldown.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
