Do you have a recognized German or equivalent degree?

EU Blue Card requires either a German Bachelor/Master degree OR a foreign degree officially recognized as equivalent (via Anabin database or university confirmation).

Important Information

  • Salary updates: Thresholds are updated annually (usually March 31). Check current rates at auslanderbehorde.de
  • Degree recognition: Check the Anabin database (anabin.kmk.org) to verify your foreign degree is recognized
  • Shortage occupations: List changes periodically. Confirm with your Ausländerbehörde
  • Processing time: EU Blue Card takes 4–8 weeks to process after application
  • Work while pending: Request a Fiktionsbescheinigung (provisional certificate) to work while decision pending
