Co-op vs full-time offer โ€” what's better for PR?

I'm in final year of my UWaterloo CS co-op program. I have two options: Option A โ€” accept my co-op return offer (full-time, $110K, TEER 1 role) and start building CEC hours immediately after graduation. Option B โ€” do one more 8-month co-op term (counted toward PGWP duration calculation), graduate in April, then start job hunting. The tradeoff I'm thinking about: Option A starts accruing the 12 months of Canadian experience I need for CEC faster. But Option B makes my PGWP longer since program length determines PGWP duration (my program is 5 years โ†’ 3-year PGWP either way). So Option A seems clearly better unless I'm missing something โ€” am I?

Thanks for sharing this! Did you have to pay any fees at the SSA office? I've heard costs vary by location.

Just went through this process myself. One thing that saved me time was calling ahead to confirm what documents they'd accept. Some offices are stricter than others.

Perfect timing! I'm arriving next month and this guide is incredibly helpful. Did you have any trouble with the office being crowded?

Saved this post for later. Really thorough breakdown of the entire process. Will definitely share with my roommate who's just starting this journey.
