Got my Ontario PNP nomination โ€” AMA

Just received my OINP (Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program) nomination under the Human Capital Priorities stream! For context: I have a 3-year PGWP, been working as a software developer (NOC 21232, TEER 1) at a Toronto startup for 14 months, CLB 9 in all four language bands, Canadian master's degree. My CRS was 462 โ€” too low for Express Entry alone. The OINP notification of interest came out of nowhere โ€” no application, they just emailed me. Nomination added 600 CRS points, got my ITA in the next draw. Timeline from nomination to ITA: 3 weeks. Happy to answer questions!

This is exactly what I needed! I was in the same situation last year. One thing I'd add is to bring extra copies of your I-20 and passport.

Thanks for sharing this! Did you have to pay any fees at the SSA office? I've heard costs vary by location.

Just went through this process myself. One thing that saved me time was calling ahead to confirm what documents they'd accept. Some offices are stricter than others.

Perfect timing! I'm arriving next month and this guide is incredibly helpful. Did you have any trouble with the office being crowded?

Have thoughts on this post?
